John Morris, President of HomeFront Ltd. notes, "Frustrated residents and commercial developers are tired of waiting to build due to lack of affordable labour and resources on the Island. I saw an opportunity to create a home development alternative and, so, I sourced out what I believe to be Canada's best modular home manufacture. HomeFront distributes factory-built Modular and Sectional homes and its product, in many cases, exceeds the craftsmanship and quality of regular site-built homes. HomeFront homes are an innovative and practical solution to the home development crisis on the Island."

Factory-built homes are all “Built Green Certified”. All homes are designed and built to minimize energy consumption, making these homes an affordable and sustainable option. Triple M facilities are better equipped to deal with waste and recycling of unused products and because Triple M manufactures products on a large scale they maximize the use of resources.

As the demand for homes increases on Vancouver Island, more construction companies are working well into the winter. During construction, site-built homes are exposed to the elements such as wet weather, sun and wind compromising the quality of the wood. If left over extended periods of time, wetness causes wood to wrap or swell leading to potential problems in the future. Triple M homes are built indoors and therefore all materials are not exposed in the manufacturing process. As a result, the materials used by Triple M are protected from wear and tear caused by outdoor weather.

Not only has the shortage of qualified builders resulted in construction of homes being pushed into the wet months, but also the influx of inexperienced tradespeople entering the market looking to fill the void. Unfortunately, the quality of craftsmanship is suffering and in turn, home owners are getting an inferior product. Triple M employs a team of permanent skilled craftspeople, and in doing so eliminates the issue of ill-experienced tradespeople.

The other benefit to having a reliable full-time staff is projects almost always finish on deadline. Triple M takes care of basic home plumbing and electrical system eliminating the need to hire multiple tradespeople.

Superior manufacturing and insulation make Triple M homes significantly more energy-efficient than many site-built homes. Homes are built with thermal insulation and 6 mil. Poly continuous vapor barriers ensure ultimate insulation. Energy-efficient homes have proven to be cost effective in the long run and better for the environment.

Construction sites are prone to vandalism and thievery; theft and damage can add up to 10% of the total cost of construction of your home. Building homes in a factory setting eliminates the risk of damage and theft.

Typically, site-built homes are made with 2x4s. Due to the nature of transporting homes, 2x6s are used to ensure a secure voyage to your site—20% to 30% more framing lumber is used in the construction of modular homes. For a sturdier structure screws, straps and fastening components are used throughout the construction process.
